Suspects of arms trafficking arrested in Leningrad region

On the territory of the Leningrad region, four suspects of illegal arms trafficking were detained. This was announced on Saturday, February 26, by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.

It is noted that over 100 weapons were seized at the places of residence of the detainees, including machine guns, rifles, machine guns and shotguns.

“The police also found four grenades, about 13 kg of gunpowder and more than 500 cartridges of various calibers. The seized was sent for research at the ECC of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, ”the MIA Media portal quotes Wolf as saying.

Among the detainees are three citizens of the Russian Federation and a citizen of a neighboring state living in St. Petersburg and the city of Slantsy, Leningrad Region.

“In relation to those detained by the Main Investigation Department of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, criminal cases were initiated on the grounds of crimes under Part 1 of Art. 222.1 and part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, ”said the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On February 2, the Center for Public Relations (CSP) of the FSB reported the arrest of more than 40 underground gunsmiths in 19 regions of the Russian Federation. Almost 200 weapons were seized from them.

It is noted that in this way the activities of 28 underground workshops for the modernization of weapons and the manufacture of ammunition were stopped.
