The car crashed into the “Wall of Sorrow” memorial in the center of Moscow

A passenger car crashed into the “Wall of Sorrow” memorial in Moscow and overturned. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Metropolitan State Traffic Inspectorate on Monday, February 28.

The accident happened on Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street earlier that day. The driver of a Volkswagen Polo passenger car, moving along Masha Poryvaeva Street in the direction of Academician Sakharov Avenue, lost control and collided with the “Wall of Sorrow” memorial.

As a result, the car overturned. The driver received a fracture of both legs and a head injury, writes NSN. The man was hospitalized.

At the disposal of “Izvestia” were shots from the scene.

The accident is under investigation. All the circumstances of the incident are being established, the Moscow news agency reports. As Life.ru clarifies, traffic along Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street was carried out as usual.

The Wall of Sorrow is a monument to the victims of repression, opened in October 2017.

On February 25, the traffic police called the Moscow Ring Road the most dangerous highway in Moscow. The main types of traffic accidents on the Moscow Ring Road in the department were called collisions, collisions with standing vehicles (mainly due to a technical malfunction), collisions with obstacles (as a rule, these are barrier fences separating traffic flows, as well as those installed at the exits from MKAD).
