Wholesalers raised purchase prices for pharmacies from 1.5% to 25% depending on the region, Victoria Presnyakova, director of the Association of Independent Pharmacies SRO, head of the Alliance of Pharmaceutical Associations, told Izvestia.
“Growth is observed both for imported and domestic drugs. At the same time, pharmacy margins have not changed, that is, the cost of medicines in retail outlets will depend on the increase in the purchase price, ”she said.
According to the head of the Alliance of Pharmaceutical Associations, pharmacies do not usually stock large amounts of medicines, so prices for some categories of drugs have either already increased or will increase in the near future.
Prices for vital and essential drugs (VED) remain unchanged, accounting for about half of the market. Prices for these drugs are fixed and controlled by the state, the expert added.
In pharmacies since last week there has been an increased demand for medicines from imported manufacturers.
“Basically, people stock up on drugs used for chronic diseases, that is, these are drugs that they take constantly,” the expert clarified.
Despite the increased interest, in the near future, interruptions with imported drugs are not expected, the specialist assured.
