Indian film “Pebbles” won the main prize of the film festival “Spirit of Fire”

In Khanty-Mansiysk, on February 28, the double XIX and the XX International Festival of Film Debuts “Spirit of Fire”. The main prizes “Golden Taiga” and rewards of 600 thousand rubles were received by the creators of the films “Pebbles” (India) and “A Tale for the Old” (Russia), respectively.

The main prize of the XIX IFF will go to India. Presenting the prize to the producer of the film Amudhavan Karupia, the chairman of the international jury, director Boris Frumin, noted that the film “Pebbles” is a real example of realism.

The favorites of the XX “Spirit of Fire” were Russian filmmakers. “Golden Taiga” was awarded to the director-debutant actor Fyodor Lavrov. Together with his friends, he shot the picture “A Tale for the Old”.

The picture “Chupacabra” directed by Grigory Kolomiytsev about a nine-year-old boy who finds a dead dog and mistakes it for a mythical animal – Chupacabra – brought the creators four “Spirit of Fire” awards. Director Grigory Kolomiytsev, cameraman Alexei Venzos, actor Platon Kuzmich received prizes in their categories, there was also a sponsor’s prize “For the Preservation of Cultural Traditions”.

Three awards went to the creators of the film “You need to die for you to come.” Directors Armen Hakobyan and Dmitry Tarkhov became the best in the competition. The leading actors Yulia Aug and Alexei Guskov were awarded the Alexander Abdulov Prize.
