Kremlin Museums Postpone Dueling Exhibition

The Moscow Kremlin Museums have postponed the exhibition “Duel. From God’s Judgment to a Noble Crime”, which was scheduled to open on March 4. On Tuesday, March 1, Izvestia was informed by the press service of the Kremlin museums.

The basis of the exhibits of the exhibition were items belonging to European museums, however, due to the restrictions imposed, they were withdrawn.

“Currently, the Moscow Kremlin Museums are working to carry out the exhibition without European participation, and express their sincere gratitude to the Russian museum community, which offered assistance in the current difficult circumstances,” the message says.

A day earlier, Warner Bros. canceled the release of the film “Batman” starring Robert Pattinson in Russia the day before the premiere due to the situation in Ukraine.

In addition, Sony Pictures has announced that it will cancel the release of its films in Russia, including the release of the new Marvel blockbuster Morbius. On the same day, the Walt Disney Company announced the suspension of the distribution of its films in Russian cinemas.

On February 17, the situation in Donbass escalated significantly due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and also asked President Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the LNR and the DNR. On February 21, the Russian leader signed the relevant decrees, and on the 24th a special operation was launched to protect the civilian population of Donbass.
