In Moscow, a pedestrian who tried to run across the Moscow Ring Road died and was hit by a car. This was announced on Tuesday, March 1, by the press service of the Moscow traffic police department in Telegram.
The incident occurred earlier that day in the area of Lermontovsky Prospekt on the 9th kilometer of the outer side of the Moscow Ring Road. The driver of a Hyundai car knocked down a pedestrian in the fifth lane from the edge of the roadway.
An investigative team is working at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being established, the Moscow news agency reports.
The circumstances of the incident are being established, writes RIAMO.
On February 25, the traffic police named the Moscow Ring Road the most dangerous highway in Moscow. The main types of accidents on the MKAD in the department were called collisions, collisions with standing vehicles (mainly due to a technical malfunction), collisions with obstacles (as a rule, these are barrier fences separating traffic flows, as well as those installed at the exits from the MKAD) .
It is noted that most often such incidents occur at night, when the density of the traffic flow is lower and the speed of its movement is higher.
