We women have managed to make society value our talent and capacity for resilience and responsibility. Undoubtedly, we bring another perspective to business -we believe and create differently- and in this diversity and plurality, the multiplier effect is born that leads us to the path of equality, a path in which we must continue working.
Accompanying, assisting and developing the ecosystem, taking into account the challenges that women face in society, is one of the answers so that female leadership continues to grow. Two problems that accompany entrepreneurship as a woman and that in my opinion require focus and work to solve are: the professionalization of enterprises led by women -this was evidenced by the accelerated digital transformation that we have experienced, related to the skills and competencies that today’s market demands- and access to financing for those seeking to undertake.
And here I stop to make an account from my vision and bring a message of possibility and transformation to women who seek to undertake or who are already doing so, from my experience on this path, which has brought me so much satisfaction and which I choose all the days.
My invitation is for you to undertake with a purpose, which means not only having a personal goal to make an idea a reality, but also making this idea have a positive impact on your ecosystem, allowing people to improve their living conditions, either by generating employment, returning in some way or with some action value to the ecosystem in which you find yourself. You don’t have to limit yourself to just a social enterprise, you can choose to add in many ways.
Now yes, when we talk about undertaking we talk about jump in and learn!
Without a doubt, I think that this phrase also summarizes a bit how to live life, if you are an entrepreneur, even more, declare yourself an apprentice of life and capitalize on each experience:
- Capacitate: Training must be continuous. Today, with access to education just a few clicks away, it has become even more democratized. Check what you need to carry out your business and what training in relation to the skills and competencies that the market demands today you have to reinforce,
- Walk accompanied: Look for a partner! Either to work with you on a day-to-day basis or to invest in entrepreneurship. Being a solopreneur may be easier, but it probably won’t get you that far.
- Learn about numbers: Be good at reading balances! At the end of the day, from the agency we provide communication services and although finances were not my thing, today I know the tax laws of all the countries in which we operate. It not only serves to read balances, but to make adjusted proposals and not pay us billing errors with jobs that end up being unprofitable. It will also allow you to have greater business predictability.
- Be part of a network: Surround yourself with entrepreneurs, seek to be accompanied by people who speak your same language, share similar experiences, can teach you a lot and above all accompany you. Participate in meetings, weave networks that support you and make you grow. At the end of the day, we are all constantly learning how to be entrepreneurs.
- Look for financing: participate in meetings with possible private investors, do the exercise and present yourself in contests or other formats that allow you to obtain capital to continue growing your business. You will not always obtain financing, but it is an excellent exercise to continue testing the viability and growth of your business and, above all, learning.
- Persevere and love what you do! As romantic as this may sound, perseverance gets a lot of business done. There where many leave, I always continued, despite living experiences that I did not like or losing the desire. That is why the network is so important. I shared and you will see that it happens to all of us. Everything you achieve will be the result of your perseverance.
And not least, what you do should please you, inspire you, it should be your commitment in the morning to start. He seems super trite but I couldn’t stop saying it. What you choose will take you many hours, which will be subtracted from your friends, your family and the people you love. It is a life choice and that path has to make you happy.
The superpower of the entrepreneur is to constantly reinvent oneself and I believe that women develop it constantly throughout our lives: move forward, learn, persevere.
Women entrepreneurs in Argentina have grown tremendously in recent years. I think there is a very important cultural change in relation to the insertion of women in the field of entrepreneurship. And although in almost 300 years of the feminist movement in the world there have been many changes, until women around the world reach the same levels of freedom and equality, this path will not be over.
