In such a volatile and uncertain context, a new hydrocarbons law can be a tool that provides a clearer outlook for the future so that the oil sector cooperates with the economy in general and reduces the impacts of an external crisis.
It is also a way to guarantee a certain stability that is more than necessary for projects that require large investments. The objective of expanding the potential of our industry, leveraging it for energy development, job creation and export growth, it is also an explicit purpose that we have emphasized whenever we had the possibility from the Oil Tankers Federation.
Legislation that promotes oil and gas investments is something that our industry needs for a long time. However, it is necessary to remember that all the actors must have a place at the discussion table and that the labor force should occupy a preponderant role as a source of consultation in projects that involve it so directly. In this sense, The contribution and value of the oil workers, who have recently achieved production levels that we have not seen for 11 years, is a contribution that deserves to be heeded and listened to.
Despite the fact that the project has not yet been discussed in Congress, the National Government has shown the intention that it be part of the agenda, and we trust that it will ensure the participation of the worker pole for its implementation. If we manage to map out long-term public policies and weave a network of mutual cooperation between the different actors involved, we can have much greater growth in production, which will help counteract the problems arising from international conflicts.
Directly and indirectly, sectors such as offshore exploration and exploitation can benefit from a view that takes care of the environment, logistics and transport, industrialization and it will also be a good platform to promote the execution of energy infrastructure works.
But for this purpose, the text must never forget the importance of the labor engine that puts into operation every day the black gold that moves the world. We believe that trade union organizations, as expressions of the working people, have a leading role in the planning and development of policies aimed at improving working conditions throughout the country.
In summary, we are willing to cooperate in each of the details related to the modifications in the regulation of the oil activity in order to accompany all kinds of plans that promote the necessary investments, as long as the legal framework for said investments is to our liking. of our workforce.
