About the pandemic, we will say that it has shown that we were more prepared for a nuclear war than to face a virus. That hit us severely in the narcissism of scientism, we cannot control or manage everything, there are no guarantees. Today we know that surprise is traumatic and that we can quickly enter a world that we thought was impossible and unthinkable. Also, naked that the obscene concentration of vaccines is a direct relative of the concentration of wealth. Situation denounced by the WHO and UN, ad nauseam.
Regarding the concentration of wealth, we will say that they are linked to the death instinct, to dark jouissance and basically to human cruelty. Furthermore, it is one of the biggest problems facing humanity. Very few have much and many have very little. To make matters worse, these billionaire entrepreneurs are presented as role models and as ideals of the time. Let’s justify our saying, the latest global wealth report 2021, published by Credit Suisse, revealed that 45.8% of the world’s wealth is concentrated in a tiny portion of the population, which is equivalent to 1.1%. They are so few that we can count them. Also, billionaires pay few taxes. What it shows is that they are cruel subjects who do not want to share, or be supportive.
According to the UN, only 2% of the fortune of the head of Tesla and SpaceX would help alleviate the world hunger crisis. Inequality in the world is deeply rooted and naturalized to a scandalous and obscene level. The 2,153 billionaires in the world have more wealth than 4.6 billion people (60% of the world’s population), according to the Oxfam report.
Likewise, the lifestyle of wealthy businessmen is accelerating climate change. The world’s richest 10% were responsible for around half of global greenhouse emissions, according to a 2020 report from the Stockholm Environment Institute.
Studying the psyche of these wealthy in more, at first we thought that they were hoarders who felt pleasure concentrating money and power. However, they can also enjoy producing hunger and pain. They are cruel and insensitive subjects who radically ignore others. Is this the elite of humanity? Are these the example to follow? Are these the Guru of the market? Questions that each of us will have to answer.
These behaviors kill, according to the WHO, 75% of suicides occur in poor or developing countries. It’s not about being dramatic. It is about denaturing these problems in order to objectify them and think about them in order to gain margins of freedom. It’s up to us to know what to do with this new reality. We are in time to build a different world. Because it is our world and the future world of our children and grandchildren that is at stake.
