On May 1, International Labor Day is celebrated. Reflecting, I became aware that I am the bearer of a personal and family history, similar to that of millions of Argentines. A story of overcoming, through generations. With a common starting point. Immigrants who have come to our land in search of opportunities, of a dignified life. Many with a happy ending. In fact, our nation was built as a melting pot of races and cultures. But in each of these stories, there are circumstances that are repeated: WORK and the culture of effort. That made it possible to overcome and materialize the dream of many to “Progress in America”. A cold winter of 1918 they got off a ship Leon Narosky from Lithuania and a few years later Sofia, born in the Ukraine, would arrive. They were fleeing from the Pogroms, persecution against the Jews. These consisted of massive aggression, accompanied by the destruction of their property (houses, stores, religious centers).
