Technology began to play a key role in this entire context, since today it is one of the few tools that producers have to overcome all these obstacles and continue generating value in their industry. Technology has revolutionized different aspects of society and the field is no stranger to this. Today from a cell phone a producer can sell, buy, control his planting and even promote his business together with other producers. With technology, the agricultural industry can reduce barriers, shorten time, distances, make tasks more efficient, automate processes, be transparent, improve costs and become a more competitive industry, aspects that neither the state policies nor the government are doing today. , nor wanting to do either.
But this goes beyond the use of new digital tools. It is also about changing some habits, ways of thinking and acting, which together with the implementation of technology is what will allow farmers and agricultural businesses to sell and produce more and more efficiently and sustainably. Technology is still little used in the agri-food sector, especially among small producers or family farmers.
Knowledge and understanding of its benefits for the sector is still very scarce and there are many gaps that make access to it difficult. But despite this, the digitization process of the sector is underway, thanks to the efforts of private initiatives, which with a clear awareness that in order to continue competing it is necessary to adapt and get on top of technological innovations, redefine business models and relationships between actors.
Thanks to technology, Argentine agriculture will continue to be a dynamic sector, not only within the economy but also generating professionals and trained personnel who want to push the sector with more efficient business practices.
