Responding to our global strategy to achieve carbon neutrality in our operations by 2030, we believe that the best way to address this issue is by proposing the construction of a mixed sustainable matrix that integrates the most efficient renewable and gas energiesalong with the implementation of state-of-the-art optimization technology to advance at the pace necessary to accelerate decarbonization.
Why use this combination of technologies? Renewable energies are key and will become increasingly important as their implementation progresses, but the amount of energy generated in this way is still very little, and unfortunately we would not be able to install enough renewable energy generation machines in the time necessary to stop the environmental impact. This is why we believe that keeping the focus on the development of more and better renewable energy generation technologieshand in hand with the implementation of new carbon capture solutions, optimization of the installed base of equipment and its gradual transition to hydrogen, is the most recommended way to meet the objectives imposed by the Paris Treaty.
But to achieve this great goal, a multisectoral effort based on the cooperation and coordination of all institutions, governments and companies is required to face this challenge.
At GE we are aware of this, and therefore, we have a responsibility to lead the industry’s decarbonization efforts and meet the growing global demand for affordable, reliable and sustainable energy.
With 130 years operating in more than 170 countries around the world, we have extensive experience providing energy solutions through the most innovative onshore and offshore wind turbines, the most efficient gas turbines, and advanced technology to modernize and digitize power grid stations.
This experience is transferred to Argentina, which has clear objectives on the importance of increasing the mix of the energy matrix for the coming years, and we have been developing renewable energy projects.
We are sure that the transition to an energy mix will bring economic and social benefits of great impact. And while we know it will take several years for some of these advances to become technologically and commercially viable, and widely adopted in many parts of the world, we are ready to rise to the challenge of transforming the lives of millions of people by building a world that works by providing access a reliable, affordable and cleaner energy.
