Excessive consumption of sugar is one of the main causes of cavities in younger and younger children.

It is important then to reduce the amount and frequency with which we generate the consumption of sweets in children without the need to prohibit them, but yes, understanding that the consumption of sweets grows in infants almost constantly and at an early age, which is not a good diagnosis for them in the future.

It is known that the consumption of sweets, sweets and other unhealthy foods fully impact the levels of childhood obesity, which do not stop increasing in our country, and is also a matter of special concern when it comes to boys and girls, since it is also about eating habits that will accompany them in the coming years and during their lives.

As parents, it is essential to encourage the change of sweets for other healthier options such as fruits. Let’s remember that treats are visible and within reach of children everywhere! “marketing always does its job” these are a constant temptation for infants, and for parents a difficult and permanent challenge to face.

Let us then think that fresh fruits are naturally sweet, they can provide us with nutrients such as fiber, vitamins and minerals. In this sense, encouraging the consumption of fruits in infants is essential to promote good eating habits from an early age.

It is important to remember that a healthy diet in children is ideal for their optimal development and growth. To achieve this, it is necessary to consume foods rich in nutrients and avoid the consumption of sweets and treats, where the latter, and as we expressed in previous paragraphs, are at the top of the preferences of boys and girls, and also in the daily offer of many families, mothers, fathers, uncles and aunts as a scale of direct providers of these.

In reality it may not be easy to limit the amount of sweets and sweets, as well as sugary drinks once children get used to the taste, But parents can eliminate the craving for excess sugar with a few simple changes, implemented a little at a time.

We must consider then that if we are talking about fruits, for example, apples can be found throughout the year, and that they are ideal fruits to obtain fiber, vitamins, minerals, in addition to other components. We can also take advantage of seasonal fruits to offer them fresh to infants and exchange their consumption during the seasons that each of them offers us.

It is not ideal to allow infants to consume liquid foods that contain sugars for prolonged periods of time, such as the little toys that are offered in the kiosks. Let us remember that water is the ideal drink for children for their daily consumption.

For all these reasons, we must consider the importance of generating healthy habits in childhood, taking into account that sweets, sweets, and sugary drinks or juices are not a priority to satisfy certain moments in our children. Being able to generate actions in them, where the consumption of fresh fruits and drinking water transform habits for the little ones, is a constant process that will generate benefits in the future.
