Real Estate: changes in real estate habits in the post-pandemic

Moving into the life you want today is synonymous with more home comfort. The pandemic made us connect more with ourselves and with our surroundings. Feeling comfortable, feeling safe, being able to work from home but also finding enjoyment at home or in the neighborhood, have become trends that we see today when we meet a client looking for a property.

In this context, we notice very visible characteristics in the search for this type of property: the lots, without a doubt, are the star of this era. Mainly driven by two factors: the need to have a little green, also added to the low cost of construction. These two factors generated a demand for lots that we have never seen in recent years.

The apartments without a balcony became real estate with a very low turnover. One of the main characteristics that buyers ask us for when listing what they are looking for in an apartment with a balcony.

Houses for sale in gated communities and countries (published at market price) began to have a large increase in demand. Today, the park, security and amenities are highly valued.

In 2020 we all wonder what traces the pandemic and isolation will leave. Today we can already give some answers: the house today is more than ever a refuge. A safe place. A space of our own from which to connect with others, the environment and nature. The real estate market is changing in this sense: private neighborhoods, apartments near green spaces and/or with balconies, townhouses with patios, houses with parks are today the most requested properties by most clients. We must be attentive to these needs, which are currently a trend.
