Exclusion zone for e-scooters

The problem is known, talks are being held. Solutions already in sight. “Actually, nothing has changed to this day. Many carelessly parked e-scooters still block the sidewalks. The main victims are senior citizens. These are almost insurmountable obstacles for people with walking disabilities, walkers and wheelchair users.

The second problem is the high speeds at which people drive despite heavy pedestrian traffic, for example in the pedestrian zones, but also on the Traun. This is particularly dangerous for children and the elderly. The environmental argument for e-scooters only applies if they are used instead of a car. In fact, the vast majority of users are just fun drivers who consume additional energy. The batteries have to be charged. All efforts by the city to eliminate the problem have so far been unsuccessful. With a third party, the situation will only get worse unless the city cracks down. If talks are of no use, as they have been so far, the entire center must be declared a restricted zone.
