For now, in the midst of an uncertain world (from the risk of a nuclear escalation to global stagflation), unusual internal violence, the informal dollar falls. In short, it grew (39.48%) from the peak ($195) of October 2020, much less than the effective interest rate of a 30-day fixed-term deposit (140%) in the same period.
INTERNATIONAL ECONOMY
In Europe, inflation continues to rise and the economy is entering a recession, while in the US inflation is slowing but the economy is stalling. Jerome Hayden Powell (Fed) warned that higher rates will bring pain to households and businesses and reiterated that another unusually large hike may be appropriate.
The immoderate increase in the price of gas, is detrimental to the business climate in Europe, Germany faces a recession that could last about a year, spreading throughout the region. The largest economy in the eurozone (where the confidence index falls-Indicator that reconciles the confidence of businessmen and consumers) is one of the most compromised by the cut in Russia’s gas supply.
Added to the scenario of stagflation in the US and the eurozone is the expectation of a greater slowdown in Southeast Asia, where export orders from technology producers are falling. China slows down in the face of a new confinement. The Central Bank of China decided to further cut interest rates. In addition, the government is pressuring state companies to grant credits of around US$30 billion to guarantee that real estate projects reach the people.
In our country, the turn to pragmatism meant that measures were taken on the fiscal front to lower the deficit. In July, for the first time in ten months, public spending crawled below inflation and the primary deficit sank by half in real terms. The swap made it possible to extend debt maturities for more than two trillion pesos, the local capital market that had closed in June was reopened and. the Treasury managed to refinance the maturities of the debt in pesos, and at the same time obtain an extra for July and August. Added to the fiscal and financing orthodoxy was a clear moderation in monetary expansion. The incorporation of the new secretary of economic programming also constitutes an ideological definition, an indication of a pro-market vision, with the intention of guaranteeing the turnaround that has diminished the uncertainty unleashed by the very sectors that support him. Subsequently, Argentine assets improved and foreign exchange gaps narrowed, although country risk did not subside.
The greater supply of dollars from agriculture has improved the position of reserves at the margin. The minister and the secretary seem to prefer sectoral and transitory devaluation agreements and tax reductions, including energy.
POLITICAL HATE, NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN
In what sense can hate be understood as a symptom of the political? Authors such as Slavoj iek, Ives Charles Zarka and Jaques Lacan studied the relationship between psychoanalysis and politics to reveal the loss of the paternal function, the liberation of prejudices and moral limits, the State as “a great fiction”, the rupture of social ties and the effects of privatization and de-citizenization processes.
In “The Prince”, Machiavelli devotes a chapter to hate, looking at those fabulously loved leaders as they can be betrayed by naives, while those who are hated can be violently suppressed.
For some time now in Argentina, a profile of violent and hating people has also been trending, a group in which thousands of men and women have been giving themselves pleasure, listening, seeing and confirming their secret disorder, through obscene haters. It is that certain networks were willing to give rise to hidden monsters that shared hostile feelings with others, arousing each other.
But what did we notice from this column?
Something simple, start from the mental states of the “individualistic selves” and your own delight. Shoot them with nonsense through influencers (since many don’t read) and you’ll build a group that feeds back and empowers itself to paroxysm.
A decade ago we were amazed by the “masturbatón”, a collective event where participants masturbated without fear of being seen, to raise funds for charity. Prizes were awarded in categories such as “most orgasms” or “longest time masturbating” and then creating debates about safe sex and alternative methods of sexual expression.
Long before this event, an egocentric subject was installed who understands that he can only affirm his own existence, and is not very interested in any other. The world that contains other people does not have an existence for them, it is only a creation of consciousness. The typical solipsistic thought, which in this context means reality, his anarchic state of mind. For it to be understood, the real can only be understood through the “I of them”, since there is no other reality beyond that “I of them”. That is why they do not listen, they do not have or are not interested in the arguments, they do not register us and, at a point when they become obtunded, they repeat phrases like drugged, raising slogans such as “eliminate, imprison or exile Kirchnerists and shitty lefties.” However, they cannot explain in an organized way that the subject is a “kirchnerista” or “shitty lefty.”
Going back and uniting solipsism and the Masturbatón event, the profiles have outlines of people who sell pornographic videos on the internet, own weapons and are full of hate and violence. They discovered the “equality of cyberspace” with seventeen fake profiles. In that world, academic training, social position, power or its shortcomings are ignored; there real life disappears, that’s why it was able to give birth to national deputies, like television, candidates for president.
All this stripped of substance. From the dances of Costa Salguero or the pantomimes on the balcony of the Casa Rosada, advertisements on empty buses where politicians travel standing, poor neighbors receive with joy and affection their exterminators of rights, financial Messi, who scores “goals against” … in the same way… the excess of false identities over real ones, the “masks” that invoked “moderation” and would lead to radically unfair decisions, explained in reverse.
The attitudes of these political protagonists that were repressed came to light. Now all together they are disputing the leadership of rage and cruelty. Today, party presidents and their eventual substitutes are no longer violent undercover. They themselves gave birth to clandestine sinister characters in the call centers of the best team. Primitively they adopted imaginary killer identities, which served as a temporary escape from their pathetic real lives. The point is that now everything comes together, you can show the “true self” and do things that were previously done under the guise of fiction. With so much incitement, politicians and communicators made it possible for “the trap of good sense” to be lifted.
We already appeared approached the obverse of democracy in an anarchic way, before now. Previously, the “threat of the game” that we foresaw resided, when we expressed that it was not a joke to set fire to a model of the Central Bank, nor to symbolize gallows, or to have fictitious mortuary bags with the names and surnames of officials.
No member of the Government included the individual in the “top five”, to act preventively. This is how, on the first day of September 2022, all that farming of hatred and political violence that satisfied the “Masturbatón environment”, sprouted from a burrow, whose connections and dimensions we still do not know.
