Who says that young people just stick around (worthy of discussion) and don’t study, research, work hard to find solutions at the same time? Do the ideas about the activists really only last until the police arrive?
Of course, I myself don’t want to stick anywhere for many good reasons, while the majority says to themselves: someone will fix it with the climate… But how many desirable changes in history have already been initiated in a way that we sensible people are far too good and ambitious for would have been? I mean, things that are vital in the long term can be discussed in an uncomfortable, sometimes desperate way. At least there are reactions, even if it were just a (benevolently didactic) column in which the word “climate” would otherwise not have appeared at all.
