It’s nice that someone ties the Advent wreaths – and organizes good children’s fairs. The scope of tasks of Catholic Action and thus of its new President goes far beyond that, namely: to ensure that the earth remains habitable, that peace is possible and that people can hope for good reasons. And: that the solidarity among the people gets back on track.
Political parties and many interest groups, including trade unions, have unfortunately lost sight of the ideal of a society based on solidarity. Too many think only of their own advantages and their own clientele.
