meat consumption and climate

meat consumption and climate

There are no alternatives to meat. What the consumer supposedly sees as an alternative here is merely an attempt to imitate meat as a high-quality food.

Above all, the meat products produced in the laboratory do not represent an alternative from an environmental point of view. The cell culture also has to be fed. And with extremely pure nutrients, which first have to be produced from vegan foods in a laborious process. Reducing or completely stopping meat consumption in the belief that this will save the climate is not enough. The main cause of the climate problem is the use of fossil fuels. Plant-based products make sense when combined with livestock feed.

Food of plant and animal origin should not be played off against each other. Agriculture can only work in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way if both production directions are combined in a balanced relationship.
