The father pays attention to a climate-friendly way of life and business, avoids driving and flying. The son is angry about the climate protectors. Many middle-aged people feel their behavior has been attacked by the activists and react angrily: “I don’t care about climate change! It doesn’t depend on me! The others should do something!” In the future there will be much greater potential for conflict than with the elderly and baby boomers.
Almost all of the people who are now in the high phase of their professional life have only experienced consumption and had it exemplified. More and more “work, work”, more growth and consumption was preached and demanded everywhere! Getting out of this mindset, this imprint, is difficult. Hopefully more and more will think about it and change something.
