The obvious unteachability with which the economic and corruption prosecutor’s office has reacted in the recent increasing number of cases in which their charges have failed in court gives the impression that they have a problem with the rule of law and with the principle “Im Doubts for the accused”. In the case of such clear verdicts as in the recent cases of Strache and Chorherr, is it really expedient (and in the interests of the citizens) to exhaust the courts to the (bitter?) end (keyword: overloading the judiciary)?
It could be fatal if the impression persists that in some cases it is not about justice but about revenge.
