Destination Europe

Mr. Berneder is not so wrong with his opinion. During a tour of Iran (when that was still possible a few years ago), I asked our local tour guide why all “asylum seekers” from the region want to go to the EU and not stay in another neighboring country with the same customs, religion, etc . He was quite surprised that I asked as it was very clear to him. “In all countries outside the EU there is no state aid and you only have to rely on the help of the population. You don’t just get food, drink and housing for free, you also get money without having to work.” When I explained to him that it wasn’t that easy, he didn’t believe me. Those are the expectations that some people set out with, and that probably hasn’t changed in the last few years.
