The increase or decrease (and even the inversion of the curve) of kyphosis or lordosis are alterations that can cause pain and other symptoms such as instability in gait with a sensation of falling forward. All regions of the spine can cause pain and other symptoms, but due to their great mobility, they are much more frequent in the cervical and lumbar areas.
Pain related to the spine, mainly the low back pain (pain in the lower back) and neck pain (pain in the neck at the level of the cervical spine) are very frequent causes of consultation both in doctors’ offices and on shifts.

Although in the vast majority of cases these acute pains improve completely, there is a percentage of patients who do not suffer this same fate and need to be studied in greater depth, sometimes requiring interventional treatments such as blockages or even spinal surgery.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen an increase in the number of consultations in clinics for cervical pain and low back pain in patients who had never suffered from these ailments before and in many cases they were related to the decrease in physical activity they previously performed, sedentary lifestyle and home office, which is often done in a bad position and sitting for long periods.
