A project to expand benefits for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder

A few days ago, World Autism Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day (ASD) was celebrated. The initiative proposes educational equality and social inclusion to prevent bullying.

The integration of the child with autism into creative spaces is important.

Autism is a disorder of neurobiological origin that affects the functioning of the brain and the nervous system, it appears in the early stages of childhood and is characterized by affecting the interaction with the outside world and contact with people in the environment, as well as due to communication problems.

The UN General Assembly ordered that World Autism Awareness Day be celebrated on April 2, with the aim of contributing to improving the quality of life of the population that has this condition. In addition, we want to promote their inclusion as full-fledged citizens in all areas of society.

The project seeks to have treatments and socialization activities and play stimulation for children with autism.

Within the framework of this special day and for a new law on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

The initiative of my authorship seeks to increase the well-being of children and adults with this condition, expanding the benefits of Law 27,043.

The modifications propose to accompany the family group, promote educational equality and social inclusion and the generation of awareness in the population to avoid bullying. It also suggests incorporating recreation and socialization, promoting job placement, seeking access to decent housing, raising awareness about healthy eating, and creating TEA Educational and Therapeutic Centers in all provinces.

The project took parliamentary status last year and now we are going to continue insisting that it come out with the new initiatives. The current law has been a great advance and we want to expand those benefits with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach and a human rights perspective.

Accompany and contain the child with autism, one of the initiatives of the law.

After my experience in public health management and listening to the associations of parents of children and adolescents with ASD, we developed this project to achieve an impact on the determinants of health by generating social, family, affective, educational, work and recreational activities suitable for the full enjoyment and exercise of the rights of people with ASD.

The project took into account the experience of children, adolescents and adults with ASD, the testimonies and requests of relatives and social organizations such as Universo TEA, Fundación ANIA, ASPERGER Tucumán and the advice of health and education professionals.
