Ezeiza is not the way out, it is a trap

Ezeiza is not the way out, it is a trap

For various reasons we hear that many young people want to leave the country. How responsible are we adults for this decision and what message can we bring to those who think of Ezeiza as the best way out of the crisis?

Let us first clarify the arguments used by those who plan to pack their bags and emigrate. Basically, they say that they are leaving Argentina looking for a better quality of life.

On my last trip to Europe I was able to talk with many Argentine millennials and centennials. Madrid is literally like a branch of Buenos Aires.

But why that place in the world? for our history

These teens embraced their parents’ pain so much that they couldn’t have the life they dreamed of. Unconsciously, they make this move for them. This finally breaks them, disintegrates them.

For their part, the parents feel a duel again. They come in turn from parents who followed the same path but in reverse, seeking “make America”. You never finish processing what hurt so much

Let me approach this subject from an anecdote. After an in-depth talk with these young migrants who, on the surface, seemed satisfied with their standard of living, they all broke down because they felt empty and alone.

Parents have a lot to do. There is fidelity on the part of the children and something implicit: “Since dad couldn’t, I won’t be able to either”. To honor dad, there is a movement that is unconscious.

These children know that they will lose being close to their affections, that they will miss out on sharing big family events, that they may never see their grandparents again.

We must tell those who think of packing their bags that in the roots there is a force that is vital. It is important to take that strength and be able to look at cultural discourses with love, honor them and say goodbye to them.

Because there are many desperate movements in search of something that you don’t even know what it is and, usually, you end up working in trades that have nothing to do with that search. They are looking for stability and security, but if we dig a little, we will see that a lot of breaks appear. That is because we transfer the pains to the place we go

The movements happen like a fugue. There is a bigger pain that we cannot take care of.

I’m not saying it’s the case for everyone. There are those who went after a dream, or to develop their careers or to start a path linked to art.

But we have a duty as adults to explain to them that the fact of going after the material is not going to leave you complete. Society is often responsible for giving wrong messages about success and happiness. Ezeiza is not the way out, it is a trap

ontological coach.
