14th place is a more than remarkable success, which the team around winery manager Mag. Roman Horvath MW and cellar master DI Heinz Frischengruber more than deserves.

500 judges from all over the world are at work judging and placing the “Best Vineyards”: journalists, wine critics, tourism experts and wine lovers. Wineries should be nominated that you would also recommend visiting to your best friends.
The fact that the quality of the wines plays a decisive role is shown by the listing of wineries such as Château d’Yquem, Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Quinta do Noval and Henschke. But the overall performance of a winery is just as important, i.e.: the tourist offer, the competence of the staff, the image and the ambience, in short everything that makes a visit to a winery a worthwhile event.

The Wachau domain is a pioneer in Austria in this regard. With deeply elegant and terroir-influenced wines, the flagship winery represents the Wachau with its very own signature and, thanks to an individual-oriented tourism concept, conveys this to an increasingly demanding public. With exquisite cuisine, exciting themed tastings, informative vineyard hikes, your own vinotheque in the heart of Dürnstein, music and cultural events and one of the best wine taverns, you open yourself up in a variety of ways.
“We all try to communicate the Wachau – its unique landscape, the steep terraces, the manual and sustainable work of the winegrowing families and of course their wines – as an authentic wine experience to our visitors. We are pleased that this news is also being noticed beyond the borders of Austria,” said Roman Horvath. Congratulations on that!
