The bodies of two more victims were raised from the Listvyazhnaya mine

The bodies of two more dead miners were raised from the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region. This was announced on Saturday, December 4, by the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Telegram.

“Mine rescuers EMERCOM of Russia continue prospecting work at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass. During them, on December 4, mine rescuers raised two more dead miners to the surface, ”the message says.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that at the moment, work is underway to restore ventilation bulkheads in the mine and a pipeline for pumping water from flooded parts of mine workings.

On December 3, the bodies of 12 more dead in the mine were raised to the surface. On the same day, rescuers identified the whereabouts of the bodies of 14 victims in the mine. According to Nikolai Medvedev, general director of the paramilitary mine rescue unit of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the search for 15 more dead miners continues.

On December 2, the acting head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Alexander Chupriyan, announced that the rescuers would work around the clock to search for and retrieve the bodies of those killed in the Listvyazhnaya accident.

The incident at the mine happened on the morning of November 25. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there was an explosion. The accident killed 51 people, including five rescuers. 99 people were injured. After what happened in the region, an emergency regime was introduced.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence”), as well as a criminal case on the fact of negligence of employees of the Rostekhnadzor department.
