Russian tourists who disappeared earlier in Cyprus were found dead, three people were detained, one of whom confessed to the murder. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian embassy in the Republic of Cyprus Sergey Lagutenko.

According to a spokesman for the embassy, one of the killed women flew to Cyprus in early summer, and the other about a month and a half ago. Both tourists rented an apartment in Larnaca.
“They disappeared on November 17, the Cypriot criminal police quickly took up this case, it was taken under the control of the Chief of Police of the Republic of Cyprus,” Lagutenko said.
He emphasized that from the first hours after the disappearance of the Russian women, the diplomatic mission was in contact with the investigating authorities, and also assisted in identifying the tourists and finding their relatives.
“As far as we know, one of the victims has relatives on the territory of the Russian Federation, contact has been established with them, regarding the second woman, there is no information about the presence of her relatives in Russia,” a representative of the embassy said.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the bodies of two Russian tourists missing in Cyprus were found buried in the garden of a local holiday home. It was noted that a 32-year-old man suspected of killing Russian women was detained ten days ago. During interrogation, he confessed to killing the women and said that he buried them in the garden of the holiday home where he worked as a construction worker, and then showed the place.
Prior to that, on November 17, Russian tourists, 43-year-old Hayat Al-Raisi and 33-year-old Maria Gazibagandova, were reported missing in Larnaca.
