Theatergoers talked about speculation on tickets to the Bolshoi Theater

The pre-New Year excitement with tickets to the main New Year’s fairy tale – the ballet The Nutcracker at the Bolshoi Theater (Bolshoi Theater) – made theatergoers take queues at night, defend them for hours, and sometimes overpay dealers three times more. And no bracelets and personalized tickets, according to the passport, helped to make the sales process easier.

The official cost of tickets for The Nutcracker at the Bolshoi Theater is from 1.5 thousand to 15 thousand rubles. On the festive December 31, the cheapest seat on the fourth tier costs 2 thousand rubles, and in the first row of the orchestra – 20 thousand rubles. Tickets for the Nutcracker are personalized and cannot be gifted or sold. For January performances, they are sold from December 4th. But connoisseurs formed a queue the day before.

On the night of December 4, hundreds of theatergoers lined up to the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theater. We ran to bask in the subway or to the nearest cafe on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. Motorists were on duty in the car, despite the fact that parking at the Bolshoi Theater costs 380 rubles per hour.

As soon as the Kremlin chimes struck midnight, the guards began distributing special bracelets. For them, you can take a queue at the box office. On the day of sales, December 5, the roll call began at 10:00, and sales began at 11:00. On average, cashiers served fifty bracelet owners per hour, each with no more than two tickets. Two adults were allowed to purchase a pair of tickets for the children.

Despite all the security and safety measures, resellers received their share of tickets and sold them from 20 thousand rubles apiece on online message boards. From those wishing to receive a ticket so, an application is required, name and surname. and the last four digits of the passport number. They do not promise anything concrete, they write about possible tickets with a price of 100 thousand rubles or more.

In addition to dealers, there are also scammers who, under the guise of touching announcements of invitations for 6.5 thousand rubles, talk about the need to leave on the day of the performance, so they offer a couple of counter-tickets to those who wish.
