It took rescuers more than nine hours to remove a worker from the collapsed building of a mining and processing plant in the city of Ak-Dovurak from under the rubble. This was announced on Sunday, December 5, by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Republic of Tyva.
Immediately after the emergency, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations pulled out the body of one person from under the rubble. It took more than nine hours to bring the second worker to the surface. The work was complicated by low air temperatures down to -25 degrees. In addition, the passage of heavy equipment to the work site was hampered by collapsed structures, and the debris had to be cleared manually.
To maintain the temperature necessary for life, heat guns were installed in the area where the victim was located. Additionally, a universal mobile heater “Gorynych” based on KAMAZ was delivered from Kyzyl. As a result, rescuers took out the victim and handed him over to doctors.
44 people and 11 pieces of equipment worked at the scene.
The ceilings of the unexploited building of the Tuvaasbest mining and processing plant in the city of Ak-Dovurak collapsed during dismantling on 5 December. The incident occurred at 12:17 (Moscow time). One person died, another was injured.
