Kiriyenko commented on the results of the international prize “We are Together”

On Sunday, December 5, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko commented on the results of the international prize “We Are Together.”

“This is a story that is very characteristic of Russia. When trouble comes, we do not scatter in our burrows, each taking care of himself, but, on the contrary, unite. And this is probably the most important thing that is visible here and now. People are ready, no matter how difficult it is for them, to help others, realizing that there are always those who are even more difficult, ”he said.

Kiriyenko noted that today significant changes are noticeable in the approach of business to volunteering. He explained that earlier this was expressed in a willingness to allocate donations, charitable funds, but now the participation of business in volunteering is “not just a tick.”

“But today representatives of almost all companies, medium and large businesses, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that for them working with corporate volunteers, interaction with volunteer organizations and centers is no longer just a checkbox that needs to be put in order to comply formal requirements for a socially responsible organization. This is a mandatory norm for them, without which they can no longer imagine the organization of their work, ”Kiriyenko said.

In turn, the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, noted that today there is a “volunteer dimension” among people of any age and any business.

“Volunteering has covered with its responsibility, so to speak, all the age limits of a person, and almost all of his activities. It turns out that any age and any business has a volunteer dimension, ”Likhachev explained.

The International Forum “We Are Together” was held in the “Manezh” from December 2 to 5 and was timed to coincide with the Volunteering Day. This year, its theme was dedicated to social partnership.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the We Are Together awards ceremony earlier that day. The head of state said that he would support any initiatives in favor of volunteers, including voluntary insurance.

In addition, he presented medals to the four winners of the We Are Together international award. The first medal went to Pavel Berezhansky, a pediatrician, head of the pulmonology department of the Morozov hospital, who was recognized as the volunteer of the year.

As noted in the Kremlin, the international prize “We are Together” was established to support social initiatives aimed at helping people and improving the quality of life. In 2021, more than 25 thousand applications were received for its competition.

On December 2, during the “We Are Together” forum, experts discussed the topic of supporting volunteering in the regions of Russia and the best practices of the new wave of governors. Daria Kislitsyna, head of the department of regional programs of the EISS, noted that the coronavirus pandemic contributed not only to the rise of the volunteer movement, but also to the adoption of managerial decisions for its long-term development.
