Little rays of hope
New year, new luck – that’s what they say. In order for the “new happiness” to emerge at all, it might not hurt to turn up the corners of your mouth more often and not look at the next twelve months with fear and horror. Of course, not all problems are over with the Pummerin’s chime on January 1st

Life moves on and is not reset to a complete beginning. But the more pessimistic we are, the more we limit ourselves. And because of the dark clouds, you can’t see when the sun shines through. So please don’t just put on your sunglasses or lower the blinds, but breathe deeply and enjoy the little rays of hope.

Hidden pearls
When a weight falls from a pessimist’s heart, it thunders on his feet. While there is some relief that this year of war and crisis is coming to an end, signs that the next twelve months will be more uplifting are rare.
“An optimist is a person who orders a dozen oysters in the hope of being able to pay for them with a pearl he finds,” said Theodor Fontane. This confidence may make you happy in the short term, but in the medium term it leads to washing up in order to be able to pay the oyster bill. The pessimist, on the other hand, pays for his oyster feast and if he unexpectedly finds a pearl, he knows full well that taxes will certainly be due.
