The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, decided to nominate a Moscow policeman for a state award, who detained an armed intruder at the MFC. This was announced on December 7 by the official representative of the department, Irina Volk.
The shooting at the MFC Moscow took place earlier on Tuesday. As a result of the incident, two people died, four more were injured. According to preliminary data, the attacker is 45-year-old Sergei Glazov. According to eyewitnesses, the man behaved inappropriately, made loud statements about the end of the world and called the coronavirus pandemic a world conspiracy.
“The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, made a decision to submit to the President of the Russian Federation a proposal for awarding a state award to senior police lieutenant Georgy Domolaev, who distinguished himself in arresting an armed intruder,” Volk said during an interview with reporters.
She stressed that the courageous and decisive actions of the police officer have prevented more serious consequences and prevented other victims.
According to Izvestia, the attacker caused a scandal after being asked to wear a mask at the entrance. After that, he took out a weapon and fired several shots. The man tried to escape from the crime scene, but he was detained by a police officer.
At the same time, according to some reports, the attacker turned out to be a former military man. Glazov served until 2010 and graduated with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
At present, a criminal case has been initiated against the one who opened fire on the fact of murder and illegal arms trafficking. The Moscow prosecutor’s office took control of the investigation of this case.
