Russian President Vladimir Putin called for maintaining the highest rates of development of the Moscow Metro. He announced this on December 7 during the opening ceremony of passenger traffic at the new stations of the Big Circle Line (BCL) metro in Moscow.
“Over the past 10 years, taking into account the commissioned section of the Big Ring, the Moscow subway has been replenished with a total of one hundred new metro and MCC stations,” the Russian leader emphasized.
The head of state launched the movement of trains at new metro stations via video communication. Prior to that, he listened to the report of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
The movement of passenger trains was opened on the section from “Mnevniki” to “Kakhovskaya”. Seven out of ten new stations have become interchange stations. With their help, you can switch to nine Moscow metro lines.
In October, metro builders completed the tunneling of the next tunnel of the Moscow Metro’s Big Ring – between the Kashirskaya station and the transition chamber at the Klenovy Boulevard station under construction on the eastern section of the Moscow Metro’s BCL.
