Police in the Moscow region detained a man after the death of a dog, which was thrown from the window of an apartment located on the 14th floor. This was announced on Tuesday, December 7, by the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Earlier, the police of the Moscow Region Lyubertsy received a message that a puppy was thrown out of the window of an apartment building located on Natashinskaya Street. The animal died as a result of falling from a height. As noted by the city news agency “Moscow”, a criminal case has been opened under the article on cruelty to animals.
Police officers identified and detained a suspect in the commission of a wrongful act – he turned out to be a resident of the city of Lyubertsy born in 1992. In relation to the man, a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest was chosen.
In early October, residents of Severodvinsk Artyom Lavrentiev and his partner Anna-Victoria Gromovich brutally killed a cat named Kuzya, who was stolen from Artyom’s mother in order to annoy her. The cat lived with a woman for 14 years. Animal abuse was filmed and posted on the Web.
On this fact, the police opened a criminal case, and the remains of the animal tortured to death were sent for examination. Now the flayers face up to five years in prison.
In Russian cities, an action “Signature for Kuzya” began, demanding severe punishment for both those suspected of torturing and killing a cat. 30 veterinary clinics and 10 cat cafes from 20 cities of Russia have already taken part in the action.
