New lifts and ski trails will be available for tourists in the winter season. This was reported on December 8 by the press service of the Sochi resort “Rosa Khutor”.
“New for the coming season will be two new tracks located on the South Slope. This is a blue track for intermediate skiing “Calendula” and a red one for confident riders – “Blueberry”. Their total length will be three kilometers, which means that now 105 km of tracks will be available at the resort, ”said Sergey Chernov, Deputy General Director for Resort Operations.
Among other things, two new belt-type hoists will appear at Rosa Khutor. One of them, called “Veles”, is 156 m long and is located on the Southern slope at an altitude of 1950 m above sea level. The second – “Pegasus” – appeared at the Finish Zone. The Veles lift is equipped with a special gallery that protects from snow and wind.
In addition, some tracks have been improved in anticipation of the new winter season. In particular, the Yavor trail has been expanded from the upper station of the Tundra lift to the lower station of the Crocus cable car, the Horizon trail at 1650 m above sea level, and the Triton trail above 1900 m above sea level.
The start of the winter season at Rosa Khutor is scheduled for December 17, but the exact date will depend on the weather.
Earlier, on December 6, the ski season 2021/22 started in the Moscow region. Snow levels in the region had reached normal by 4 December.
