The head of the criminal investigation department of the Moscow police department “Golyanovo” and the intermediary in the transfer of money were charged with fraud. REN TV reports about it on December 8.
According to the TV channel, both are going to be placed under arrest.
Earlier, on December 8, it became known that the operational officers of the police headquarters’ own security had detained the head of the criminal investigation department of the Golyanovo police station on suspicion of accepting a bribe.
According to the specialists of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, they were approached by a man who said that a certain citizen offered him to avoid criminal liability with the help of connections in law enforcement agencies for a monetary reward.
The man handed over 3 million rubles to an intermediary at the request of the head of the criminal investigation department Viktor D, REN TV reports.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”.
