The funded part of the pension of Russians will be frozen until 2024. On Wednesday, December 8, the State Duma at a plenary session in the third reading adopted the relevant law.
According to the explanatory note, the extension of the moratorium will save in 2024, according to preliminary estimates, 772.9 billion rubles – this amount will decrease the amount of transfers to the Pension Fund for compulsory pension insurance.
The funded pension has been frozen since 2014. Since then, contributions in the amount of 6% of salaries are sent to the insurance part, that is, they go to payments to current pensioners. Prior to that, citizens could independently decide whether to direct money to form savings or transfer to the insurance part, increasing the points for calculating the size of the pension.
Earlier, on December 6, the State Duma commented on the proposal of the Ministry of Labor to change the procedure for paying pensions. We are talking about those who have the right to receive pension savings in the entire amount at once. In particular, the amendments refer to those who receive a disability or survivor’s pension, as well as those who have too little work experience to receive an old-age insurance pension. The second category includes women over 55 and men over 60.
The initiative of the Ministry of Labor will allow citizens, without coming to the offices of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR), to submit an application for receipt of payments due, including a lump sum payment for non-state pensions, for women over the age of 55 and men over 60 years old remotely on the portal public services.
