In Yalta, a car driver knocked down 95-year-old veteran Anatoly Medved and fled the scene of the accident. The mayor of the city Yanina Pavlenko announced this on Thursday, December 9, in her Telegram channel.
Pavlenko attached a video of the incident to her message. The footage from the security camera shows how the car is moving in reverse and runs into a pedestrian, pushing him with the trunk. After the collision, the driver continues to move, writes REGNUM.
Pavlenko noted that the victim was an honorary resident of Yalta, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, writes NSN. The accident took place in the area of Palmiro Togliatti street.
“I contacted him to find out how he was feeling. Thank God, he feels well, he did not turn to law enforcement officers. I will do it personally. And the worst thing is that the driver left the scene. I didn’t come out, didn’t apologize, didn’t specify the state, ”the mayor wrote.
The official called on local residents to help her find out who was driving the car. Pavlenko stressed that such an act should not be left unpunished, the TV channel “360” notes.
On this fact, the Yalta prosecutor’s office began an investigation. The press service of the supervisory agency clarified that the collision was made by the driver of a Nissan car.
