The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia will monitor changes in the cost of utilities and will continue to monitor tariffs for utilities on a regular basis. This was announced on Friday, December 10, on the agency’s website.
The FAS noted that, in addition to the tool of limiting indices of changes in the payment of citizens for utilities, in Russia various other mechanisms have been created to support citizens related to the receipt and payment of utilities.
“For example, receiving subsidies for utility bills for families in whose incomes utility bills exceed a certain share, and preferential tariffs for the population, as well as benefits for connecting to electricity and gas distribution networks,” the message says.
Thus, the social orientation of the state tariff policy in relation to changes in payments for utilities for the population will remain, the department concluded.
As Izvestia reported earlier this day with reference to the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the national average tariffs for housing and communal services from July 1, 2022 will increase by no more than 4%.
