During a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), Russian President Vladimir Putin responded harshly to film director Alexander Sokurov, because he spoke about sensitive topics without knowing the subject. This was stated by the representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov on December 10.
According to Peskov, Putin reacted to the director’s comment “quite harshly.” He stressed that Sokurov “very unprofessionally” began to touch upon important and delicate topics.
“This is what the president does not tolerate. But he told him (Sokurov. – Ed.) About it directly, ”the Daily Storm portal quoted Peskov as saying.
Earlier during the meeting, Putin criticized the director’s proposal to think about the construction of the Russian state. The Russian leader said that he was ready to discuss with Sokurov and invited him to his place. At the same time, he drew his attention to the fact that during the speech “very subtle and sensitive things” were touched upon.
Also, during the HRC meeting, the head of state spoke about NATO’s attempts to turn Russia into Muscovy. He noted that Russia is a multinational and multi-confessional country. In addition, the president urged “not to wake up dashingly” by discussing territorial claims within the Russian Federation.
On December 7, the Russian president said that certain forces in the West, after the collapse of the USSR, were trying to destroy Russia as well.
