Four suspects in the organization of an underground casino were detained in Moscow

In the south-west of Moscow, four people were detained for organizing an underground casino in a rented apartment. This was announced on Friday, December 10, in the capital’s Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the ministry, the defendants in the apartment on Dmitry Ulyanov Street organized gambling with the use of gaming equipment. It was possible to get there via the mailing list distributed in closed chats, or at the invitation of another player.

This activity was identified and suppressed. Charges are currently being brought against three women between the ages of 23 and 46 and a 31-year-old man. All of them pleaded guilty during interrogation and are under recognizance not to leave and proper behavior, the Moscow city news agency notes.

During the searches, bank cards, mobile phones and gambling equipment were seized. A criminal case was initiated under the article on illegal organization and conduct of gambling.

In July, in Irkutsk, the action of a criminal group that organized a large underground casino was suppressed. Law enforcement officials managed to identify 15 people who “performed various functions in the underground casino.” Three of them are the organizers of the illegal gambling business, they are 41, 52 and 59 years old.

A criminal case was initiated for the illegal organization and conduct of gambling (Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
