A criminal case was opened against a traffic police inspector from the Moscow region after an illegal deer hunt in the Kaluga region. This was reported on Saturday, December 11, by the press service of the Investigative Department of the TFR for the region.
The fact that the traffic police officer is suspected of illegal hunting became known earlier that day. It was noted that according to the results of an official check, the man was fired for negative reasons.
According to the ministry, on the night of December 9, a 34-year-old inspector at the specially protected area of the Tarusa state complex in the Zhukovsky district of the Kaluga region fired a rifle at a sika deer. The animal died, and the offender was found at the scene by the workers of the complex.
Tarusa suffered 300 thousand rubles worth of damage.
A case was initiated under Art. 2 tbsp. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal hunting”).
Earlier, on December 6, the ICR interrogated the State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin in the case of illegal hunting. The deputy refused to disclose the details of the interrogation. On December 2, Izvestia was informed that the chairman of the TFR, Alexander Bastrykin, had opened a criminal case against the parliamentarian.
On November 25, Rashkin was deprived of his parliamentary immunity. 345 people voted “for”, 54 against, one abstained. The State Duma also agreed to initiate a criminal case against Rashkin.
Prior to that, on November 19, Rashkin admitted that he had shot a moose in the Saratov region, stating that he had allegedly confused the animal with a wild boar in poor visibility using a thermal imager. He stressed that he did not shy away from interrogations and was ready to testify to the investigation. On November 22, the deputy admitted that he was hunting in the forest illegally, and also noted that he had not checked whether there was a hunting permit.
