In Nizhny Novgorod, a festive parade of fairy tale heroes and actors opened on December 11 a series of events within the framework of the New Year’s Capital of Russia – 2022 festival. The procession was attended by hundreds of Nizhny Novgorod residents and guests of the city. The column started from the beginning of Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street and reached Gorky Square.
The main hero of the parade was the boy Vanya the Dreamer. He showed the audience the symbol of the New Year’s capital – a snowflake made using the technique of Kazakovsk filigree, inviting everyone to walk with him and present the winter symbol to Santa Claus.
The parade route passed through the stations, where street theater actors, jugglers, stilt-walking angels, mimes and dancers, as well as everyone from Nizhny Novgorod and guests of the city, joined the festive column.
The solemn procession was accompanied by the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Orchestra and DJs. The event was also attended by actors from the Theater for Young Spectators, the Comedy Theater, the Piano Theater and the Vera Theater, artists from the Nizhny Novgorod Chamber Choir and the Blue Len ensemble.
In Nizhny Novgorod, festive events in the status of the official “New Year’s Capital of Russia – 2022” will be held from December 11, 2021 to January 9, 2022.
