The failed vote in Congress on the so-called omnibus law brought with it the x-ray of a new Argentine right-wing alliance. There is, without a doubt, a new political geography, with a government that has been severely defeated, but at the same time managed to divide the second force in the country and many (PRO) openly join its ranks.
It is strange, difficult to understand how a builder and “supposed” natural leader of a political space has as much capacity to build as it does to destroy, as Mauricio Macri is demonstrating. This achievement in less than 60 days liquefied a capital of 40% of the votes.
Destroy the political will of a huge number of Argentines who voted together for change and did not do so for Javier Miley and his Anarcho Liberal proposals.
Unfortunately, due to the work of Mauricio Macri, today together for the change is just a memory.
Unfortunately, within the Radical Civic Union there are leaders who only play the game of their interests, the preservation of the black boxes. And why not talk about the trust funds that the caste did not vote for in the section and move $10,000 a year, for which there is no accountability.
JXC is a bittersweet memory indeed, sweet because it represented at the time the possibility of finding a way out of Argentina and being a serious alternative to Kirchnerism. And well, that’s how it went for all of us who were part of that coalition and it also obviously went badly for the Argentines, when that coalition had in its hands the national government, the government of the province of Buenos Aires and the City Government with a significant number of deputies and senators. We had everything, everything, to be able to change things and simply nothing changed. There are no excuses.
Already in October 2023 I wrote a column in which I warned that the intellectual author of the destruction of Together for Change has a first and last name and is, paradoxically, the same one who created it: Mauricio Macri.
It has been 4 years of inmates and political cannibalism. It is too much for any political space, no matter how compact.
The former president has systematically taken it upon himself to destroy what he created, something that is characteristic of the selfish and miserable.
Between Mauricio Macri and the radical intern, they imploded a space that was hanging by a thread and held together by fear, a fear that Macri collaborated with so that he has the possibility of taking the government. This hurts but it is the Truth, to bread bread and to wine, wine.
Reality is what it is and not a story, we believed we had a leader who sets the course, empathizes, gives hope, brings together, communicates effectively with his team, expresses what is needed, knows what is intended to be achieved, transmits the indications and motivates when making certain decisions, sets the course… LEADS. We thought we had it, we never had it.
