Primorsky Sochi for the New Year is in the greatest demand among Russian tourists, Crimea is in fifth place, Sergey Romashkin, general director of the Dolphin tour operator, told Izvestia.
According to him, New Year’s trips in Russia will take place in two waves: the first tourists will arrive at their destination on December 30-31 and leave it on January 2-3. The second wave arrives on January 3-4 and rests until the end of the holidays.
“The rating of popular tourist destinations for the New Year is headed by the coastal cluster of Sochi. Now there are low prices due to the fact that you cannot swim. Nevertheless, the weather is very warm, there is a lot of entertainment – for example, “Sochi Park” with attractions. Therefore, Sochi is more popular than Crimea, where the weather is cooler and the infrastructure is simpler, ”said Sergei Romashkin.
Those who will not go to the sea choose areas near their cities.
“This is one of the most budgetary options, since there are no costs for air or train tickets, tourists travel by their own car. The cost per day goes around 3.5 thousand rubles for a 3-4-star hotel with breakfast. By the way, the price is approximately the same in all tourist regions, with the exception of Krasnaya Polyana, where the high season is now, is much more expensive there, ”the expert noted.
In third place in popularity are ski tours to Krasnaya Polyana, Dombay, Arkhyz, Elbrus region. Next in the rating of the Caucasus Ministries, where they go for medical procedures. Then Crimea, Veliky Ustyug, Petersburg, Moscow, “Golden Ring” and Kazan.
“If we compare with last year, now the demand for New Year’s trips is about the same. In our opinion, this is a good result, since a year ago in New Year’s time there was a tourist cashback (travelers were compensated for 20% of the cost of the tour. – Izvestia), but now it is not, “he said.
