Initiative
21 months of the pandemic are leaving their mark not only in society but also in the economy. There are hardly any companies that do not complain about lost sales, missed orders and a shortage of skilled workers.
It is therefore not surprising that companies are now taking the initiative and paying bonuses to employees who have been vaccinated or who have been vaccinated. The argument that these incentives should actually be created by the state falls short when one considers the broad criticism of the government’s corona management.
What also speaks in favor of bonuses in companies: Planning with unvaccinated employees is almost impossible. In addition to sick leave, quarantine cases from contact persons also inhibit the companies.

State task
To at least mitigate the catastrophic effects of the corona pandemic on health, society and the economy: This noble goal is pursued by several companies that want to reward their employees with bonuses for vaccination. In principle, this initiative is to be commended and welcomed.
Much more effective than initiative would be less, however, if the state would take an example and offer a solution for all people in our country. In other words: a bonus for everyone who wants to be vaccinated.
Of course, it is fundamentally to be questioned why, of all things, cash must be true. But every euro spent on such an action is more sensible than on another lockdown.
