Sources told about the strengthening of the Black Sea Fleet with new ships

Before the New Year, the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) will be reinforced with four ships. Sources in the Ministry of Defense told Izvestia about this. The fleet will include the newest minesweeper “Georgy Kurbatov” and the rear supply vessel “Vsevolod Bobrov”. Together with them, the Krasnodar submarine, which was previously undergoing repair, will return to the Black Sea Fleet; it will be accompanied by the vessel “Rescuer Vasily Bekh”.

Sources in the Russian military department told Izvestia that the logistics supply vessel Vsevolod Bobrov and the minesweeper Georgy Kurbatov will become part of the Black Sea Fleet by the end of this year. They will come to the Black Sea people from the Baltic. The decision in principle to complete the inter-fleet passage has already been made. It will start very soon, Izvestia’s interlocutors said.

Vsevolod Bobrov, built in St. Petersburg, is the second ship of project 23120 Elbrus. The minesweeper “Georgy Kurbatov” is from Baltiysk, where the naval Andreevsky flag was raised on it this summer. This is the fifth minesweeper of the newest project 12700 “Alexandrite” put into operation.

The submarine of project 636.3 Krasnodar was also sent from the Baltic to the Black Sea Fleet. She was undergoing renovations after participating in the operation in Syria and participated in the main naval parade this summer in St. Petersburg. The vessel “Rescuer Vasily Bekh” will assist the submarine during the inter-fleet passage.
