The cause of the fire in the Amur region that killed four people is named

A fire in a private wooden house in the Amur region, which killed four people, including two children, according to preliminary information, happened due to faulty wiring. This was reported on December 15 at the regional prosecutor’s office.

“The alleged cause of the fire is a malfunction in the electrical wiring,” the department said.

The prosecutor’s office clarified that the fire killed a woman born in 1992, her common-law husband born in 1979 and the woman’s two children – an 11-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. The 11-year-old brother of the deceased woman survived. He was hospitalized.

The department also added that the family was prosperous, and was not registered with specialized agencies on preventive records.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence to two or more persons”). The prosecutor’s office recognized the initiation of the case as legal.

Earlier on Wednesday, a fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the Kirovsky district of Novosibirsk. Oil spilled on the stove was previously named as the cause of the fire. It is noted that this happened when the girl was preparing breakfast. The fire quickly spread to the stretch ceiling. No information about the victims has been reported. Rescuers evacuated 49 people from the entrance.
