It must hurt
The half-hearted apology from those responsible after the embarrassing slogans from managing director Steffen Hofmann, assistant coach Stefan Kulovits and several players shows that, as in previous years, Rapid is not willing to deal with fan groups that trample on the values of the sport to really invest. The hefty fines that the club has to pay almost every season due to the misconduct of some bullies are apparently priced into the budget. That is why the Bundesliga arbitration tribunal is now required to act consistently and take a measure that will really hurt a football club. A points deduction is much more effective than another fine.
Wrong construction site
The Bundesliga table consists of the following elements: games, wins, draws, defeats, goals and points. I can’t find a category in which “Embarrassing behavior of 43-year-old officials makes others feel ashamed” is rated.
The league should be wary of even thinking about creating a “Lex Rapid.” This would be possible if the discrimination paragraph were not applied and the individual minimum penalties would be lower as a result. Those responsible should be punished. You’re old enough to know better. Nevertheless, point deductions in the table should be limited to those who illegally gain a sporting advantage or violate licensing criteria that apply to everyone.
